Any Inhabitat reader knows how much we love shipping container architecture, so you can imagine how excited we were when we learned that a market made entirely from shipping containers would be opening in New York City, home to many of our writers and editors. Well, this past weekend, the market finally opened! Called Dekalb Market, the space is constructed from 22 recycled shipping containers and located in Downtown Brooklyn. Local designers, restaurants, and shops moved in this weekend, and we were there on opening day to get a first look! Hit the jump to see our exclusive photos!
